Users are now demanding that, in addition to web based
access to enterprise applications, they have access
to those same applications from the "wireless web".
This has led to developers experiencing the need to
extend applications to the myriad of wireless devices
that now support data services. However, the different
display capabilities and characteristics supported by
different devices, complicates this task for application
developers.
OutSourcingIT has significant expertise in wireless
technologies and application architectures. We have
built skills in multiple wireless standards and protocols,
have invested in accelerators for wireless projects,
and have worked with clients to deploy wireless solutions.

In terms of wireless technology,
our expertise covers various existing as well as emerging
wireless technologies - starting with the various devices,
their operating systems and SDKs, and the overall wireless
application infrastructure.
As the diagram above indicates, we have built our wireless
expertise across the wireless stack. Having been early
adopters of Java and XML, we found the move to J2ME
and Wireless XML Standards a natural progression. In
the J2ME area, we have developed J2ME-based email, calendar,
and contact applications. We are also actively involved
in the development of infrastructure and applications
for the Windows-CE environment, targeting the HPC and
the Pocket-PC devices. We are working with the IBM WebSphere
Voice Server SDK 1.5 and Motorola ADK 2.0, which support
voice-enabled application development. We have carried
out extensive evaluations of wireless support in the
Oracle Application Server 9i Wireless edition, the Enhydra
Application Server, and the Aligo M-1 Server. We track
and follow wireless support in products from companies
like Broadbeam, IBM, BEA, Microsoft, AlterEgo, CoreChange,
and MobileQ.
Our wireless expertise enables us to develop a wide
array of wireless solutions for our clients. We can
co-develop wireless products, develop wireless applications
for mobile browsers or for native devices, develop mCommerce
solutions, and integrate with a variety of database
and enterprise applications. We have a specific service
offering to wrap an existing application with a mobile
front end.
